Our Ministries

We have 6 needs/solutions that we focus on:

Shine Like Stars addresses the needs head-on with multiple life-changing solutions by partnering with front-line leaders and ministry partners who permanently reside in India. While Shine Like Stars partners with various teams of local believers and groups in India, the specific focus on rescuing the vulnerable, rehabilitating the broken, reuniting the lost and educating all, is primarily accomplished through the long-term family established ministry of SEAL Ashram. *In 2023 SEAL Ashram received the Mother Teresa Award for Social Justice.

Pastoral Care & Church Planting

Through partnership with Christ-centered ministry organizations in India, we train and support local Pastors, and help plant new churches in unreached areas, while provide ongoing spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and relational care. The Pastors we train are devoted local believers who call India home. Because they’ve grown up in the very communities which they serve, they understand the languages, traditions, and unique needs of the people. Many of these servant leaders can’t afford public transportation, live in rural areas where walking is necessary for evangelization and in such situations, reliable bicycles are required.

Educational Grants & Vocational Training

For those given educational support through SEAL, onsite residence, clothes, uniforms, all meals, medical care and spiritual formation are also included. Based on need, costs associated with pre-school, primary and secondary school, pre-college, tutoring, college and job skills training programs that prepare children, youth, and adults for long-term success in the workforce and to be contributing and successful citizens in society are all covered.

Rescues & Humanitarian Aid

SEAL rescue teams courageously intercept precious lives from life threatening situations of neglect, abandonment and abuse. Many times, rescues include the most vulnerable of all, children, from the grips of exploitation by bringing them into a shield of safety.

Medical Aid & Palliative Care

We care for those in critical need, offering medical support to the destitute, the sick, and individuals facing urgent health crises. Through an on-site medical triage at SEAL Ashram, people who would otherwise be turned away from public and private hospitals are given compassionate and palliative care, cleaned, stabilized and further treated in the campus clinic or transported to the nearest hospital.

Health & Wellness Programs

Through daily health and wellness exercises, and weekly social work visits, the residents at SEAL Ashram are given the treasure of life rehabilitated and restored.We run health education programs, hygiene initiatives, and mental wellness support to promote the long-term physical, mental and emotional well-being of those who have faced trauma, neglect and abuse.

Safe Homes & Transitional Housing

When men, women and children are rescued, they are benevolently brought to SEAL’s 13-acre campus. We provide temporary housing and safe spaces for individuals escaping abuse, trafficking, or homelessness. Reunification is always the primary goal but when that’s not possible, as long as accommodations are available on-site, the rescued remain as family in their new home, as God’s grace gives them a new chance at renewed life until transition can be made toward independence. In other regions of India, where Shine Like Stars is notified of cases of women who are widowed or children who become orphaned, financial support is provided and safe homes are quickly identified to care for these lonely and vulnerable lives.
